Chocolate confetti squares make an easy dessert with only four ingredients. Tasty and so pretty to look at!
I’ve always loved pictures of confetti squares. You know the ones, made with butterscotch chips. Turns out, I’ve never actually tried them. Not being a huge fan of butterscotch chips, the squares were always something that were nice to look at but not something I wanted to try. I replaced the butterscotch chips with chocolate chips and voila – Chocolate Confetti Squares.
This colourful treat is super easy to make. There is one thing that is hard about it though. Waiting for it to set. It really does need to set in the fridge for a few hours so that it slices just right.
While the ingredients are simple, these squares are quite rich. I actually prefer to cut them in smaller slices.
How To Make The Chocolate Confetti Squares
In a pot, melt the butter, chocolate chips and peanut butter over medium heat. Once it has all melted together, let the mixture come to room temperature. This is important because you don’t want those pretty marshmallows to melt. This step is kind of hard too because the chocolate and peanut butter taste so good!
Once the mixture has cooled, add in the marshmallows and put it all in a greased 8″ x 8″ dish. Refrigerate for a few hours until its set before slicing.
Ingredients
- 2 cups chocolate chips
- 1 cup peanut butter
- 250 g coloured marshmallows
- 1/4 cup butter
Instructions
- In a large pot, combine the chocolate chips, peanut butter and butter and melt together on medium heat.
- Once it's melted, take it off the heat and let it come to room temperature.

- Let the bars cool in the fridge for a few hours before you dig in.
