These sweet and savoury Hoisin Garlic Chicken Thighs make a quick and easy dinner. Just throw them on the bbq while you enjoy the sun.
With the weather heating up, the last thing I want is to turn on the oven inside. The grill is definitely our best friend over the summer! I always like to make sure I have lots of things on hand that I can just throw on the bbq and marinated meat is always stocked up.
This recipe for Hoisin Garlic Chicken was very well received, especially by the kiddos. It’s sweet and savoury, sticky and moist. I like to use thighs because they are tender and don’t dry out easily but use whatever is your favourite.
We love hoisin sauce for dipping but it also makes a great marinade, like for these chicken skewers. It’s thick and flavourful and coats the chicken well. The marinade is simple – hoisin sauce, garlic powder, fish sauce, soy sauce along with some pepper and a dash of sugar. Just dump it all in a freezer bag with some chicken thighs and marinate for an hour or a few.
Fire up the bbq and cook your thighs to an internal temperature of 165 degrees. These are perfect with salad or some grilled veggies.
