Fragrant and comforting, this saffron almond (kesar badam) milk takes me back to my childhood.
We have been doing a bit of organizing lately and one of the areas I tackled was my pantry. It needed a much needed overhaul and I’m so happy with how things are organized. Let’s hope things stay that way.
When Q was checking it out, he noticed the little jars of saffron (affiliate link) that I had. We inhaled the wonderful aroma and I was taken back to my childhood. Isn’t it amazing the power of scent? I was reminded about the saffron milk with almonds that my parents made for me. Many times it was for when we were sick but also some times when just comfort was needed. It was something that I needed to make so my kids could enjoy the fragrant milk, like I did.
Saffron almond milk is simple to make. Just warm some milk with a few strands of saffron. A little goes a long way. I added a tablespoon of sugar to a couple cups of milk and let it boil. When the milk is to your liking, just pour it in a cup and top with some chopped almonds.
