It’s pumpkin season! Creamy and smooth, this pumpkin pie smoothie is the perfect Fall drink.
Hey pumpkin lovers. Here’s a drink that you must try. This pumpkin pie smoothie is perfect for the season. I knew it was one that needed to be shared when my son said he couldn’t stop drinking it because it tasted so good.
As hard as it is to say goodbye to summer and hot weather and open toed shoes, Fall is just beautiful. The colours, the smells, the flavours – it is one of my favourite seasons.
Although Pumpkin Spice Lattes are something I have actually never tried (how can I stray from peppermint mochas?), the smell of pumpkin and pumpkin spice is something that I love.
A smoothie was in order! When making smoothies, I always like to add banana. It just makes the drink so smooth and creamy. Even though this is mainly a pumpkin smoothie, the addition of the banana is key. With the pumpkin and the spices, the taste of the banana is minimal.
This smoothie is basic – banana, pumpkin, spices and milk. When making smoothies though, it’s so easy to change it up each time. Up the protein factor by adding a scoop of your favourite protein powder. Add extra nutrients with ground flax or chia.
With the pumpkin and spices, the smoothie does need a little bit of sweet. I used agave but it can be easily replaced with maple syrup or honey.
Yields 2 smoothies
- 1 cup banana
- 1 banana
- 1/2 cup pumpkin puree
- 1 tsp pumpkin spice
- 1 TB agave
- 1 cup milk
- Add everything to a blender and blend until smooth.
