Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

The first time I smelled pumpkin baking was when I was walking the halls of my elementary school a million years ago (or so it seems). The kids in kindergarten had baked some muffins and the delicious smell filtered through the halls. Every time I smell baked pumpkin, it transports me back.

Pumpkin Chocolate Chip Bread

Not much for pumpkin in coffee but pumpkin in cake or muffins, yum! Add in some chocolate? Yes please. I wanted a bread that not only tasted delicious and warm and Fall-like, but one that was moist and this definitely delivers. The cinnamon and all spice delivers with the warmth and the addition of sour cream makes the bread super moist. No dry crumbs here!

Summer days for us in Canada mean we are usually outside, grilling our food, and enjoying time with friends and family. We try to make the most of our short summers, so we try to cook as may meals on the bbq as we can.

Anyone who knows me know that I love appetizers and could eat a whole meal of them. We have done a few appetizer parties and they have always been a hit. It’s always fun to come up with the perfect bite so I loved that this contest meant coming up with an appetizer that showcased mushrooms. A couple months ago, hubby and I escaped to Spain for a few days. It was a whirlwind trip that I still need to share with you. Soon. Of course we had lots of tapas, loving the little bites.

One item that we loved was from Ultramarinos where we had gone for dinner our last night. We had the eggplant fritters with honey and lime and were surprised by how great the flavours worked together.
