Brazilian Cheese Bread

April 12, 2018 By Fareen 1 Comment

This past weekend, we went out for dinner with our friends to Pampa Brazilian Steakhouse. We always enjoy a good meal there and I was not just looking forward to all the delicious meat but the cheese bread.

Cheese Bread from Pampa Brazilian Steakhouse

Brazilian cheese bread, also known as Pão de Queijo, is a small little cheese puff. It’s made with tapioca flour so so perfect for those who are looking for something gluten-free. It bakes up a little crisp on the outside and hollow on the inside. It is a cheesy, chewy delight.

Buttercream Icing

March 19, 2018 By Fareen 1 Comment

It’s my birthday! I figure since cake will be involved, it’s the perfect day to share a recipe for buttercream icing.

I don’t discriminate when it comes to icing but if I had to pick just one, this would have to be it.

Fudgey Pecan Pie

March 14, 2018 By Fareen 2 Comments

Growing up, we took a lot of road trips. We drove through most of Canada and a lot of the United States, going a different route every summer. Those were some long hours in the car but so many great memories were made. One trip which stands out was one where we drove from Eastern Canada all the way down to Florida. We made a stop in Hershey Pennsylvania and went to the Hershey Factory. Naturally, a visit to a chocolate factory is definitely something this chocoholic still dreams about.

Mini Peach and Almond Cups

February 28, 2018 By Fareen Leave a Comment

Disclaimer – California Cling Peaches has sponsored this post but all thoughts and opinions are my own.

Doesn’t this seem like it’s been the longest winter ever! I thought that by escaping the cold in January, it would shorten this cold spell but it does seem never ending.

I’ve decided to forget the cold and dream of Spring, in particular Easter and Mother’s Day. These occasions are perfect for a tea party, don’t you think?

Peach and Almond Cups

These mini peach and almond cups are perfect with tea, or coffee if you prefer. The peaches bring a brightness, a touch of sunshine while the almonds make them filling and provide a great texture. The combination is very delicious.

Marriott Riverwalk (San Antonio)

February 22, 2018 By Fareen Leave a Comment

Disclaimer: We were hosted by the Marriott Riverwalk Hotel in San Antonio for two nights. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

While travelling to Texas for a cruise last month, we decided to book an extra couple days to explore San Antonio. We were expecting to spend a few days in the sun. Instead, we ended up in Texas during a winter storm!

Hot Crab Dip

January 31, 2018 By Fareen Leave a Comment

If you don’t already know, I am a sucker for a good dip. Whether it be for veggies or chips, dips are just one of my favourite things to serve at a party.  So, for Superbowl Sunday, it just makes sense to have a delicious dip to add to the spread.  I knew it had to be hot and cheesy and this hot crab dip fits the bill.

Sponge Toffee

December 28, 2017 By Fareen 1 Comment

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!  Ours was spent with family and friends and so much food!

One of my favourite chocolate bars from when I was little was Crunchie. The sponge toffee center topped with chocolate was the perfect treat. This year, I decided that this honeycomb delight was something I wanted to make.

Homemade Cranberry Sauce

December 20, 2017 By Fareen Leave a Comment

Just a few days until Christmas! While we prepare to fill our tummies with delicious turkey, it’s a great time to plan what to serve along with the bird.

Cranberry sauce is a must have and making cranberry sauce at home is super easy peasy. It also tastes way better than the canned stuff.
