It’s my birthday! I figure since cake will be involved, it’s the perfect day to share a recipe for buttercream icing.
I don’t discriminate when it comes to icing but if I had to pick just one, this would have to be it.

Growing up, we took a lot of road trips. We drove through most of Canada and a lot of the United States, going a different route every summer. Those were some long hours in the car but so many great memories were made. One trip which stands out was one where we drove from Eastern Canada all the way down to Florida. We made a stop in Hershey Pennsylvania and went to the Hershey Factory. Naturally, a visit to a chocolate factory is definitely something this chocoholic still dreams about.

With life being as crazy as it is, I’m always on the search for a quick and delicious meal. I still turn to the Instant Pot when I need to get dinner on the table in a hurry. From ribs to potatoes, it really is my go-to. It’s also perfect to make Instant Pot Lasagna.

Doesn’t this seem like it’s been the longest winter ever! I thought that by escaping the cold in January, it would shorten this cold spell but it does seem never ending.

These mini peach and almond cups are perfect with tea, or coffee if you prefer. The peaches bring a brightness, a touch of sunshine while the almonds make them filling and provide a great texture. The combination is very delicious.

So, for Superbowl Sunday, it just makes sense to have a delicious dip to add to the spread. I knew it had to be hot and cheesy and this hot crab dip fits the bill.

Hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! Ours was spent with family and friends and so much food!
One of my favourite chocolate bars from when I was little was Crunchie. The sponge toffee center topped with chocolate was the perfect treat. This year, I decided that this honeycomb delight was something I wanted to make.

Just a few days until Christmas! While we prepare to fill our tummies with delicious turkey, it’s a great time to plan what to serve along with the bird.
Cranberry sauce is a must have and making cranberry sauce at home is super easy peasy. It also tastes way better than the canned stuff.

We have had a pretty amazing December. While others have been sitting through snowstorms staying warm by the fire with mugs of hot chocolate, we have had some mild weather. I mean, no-coat, no-boot weather, ride your bike and bbq weather. I know the cold front will soon be coming and I’m sure we will have a white Christmas, but for now, I’ll just happily enjoy this.
