A couple of weekends ago, we headed to Banff to see the Santa Clause Parade. We are so lucky to have the mountains so close by and we were excited for this much needed escape.
Before heading back to Calgary the next day, we headed up the mountain on the Banff Gondola and checked out all their offerings just in time for Christmas.

‘Tis the season! Santa is back at Southcentre Mall during mall hours until December 24th at 3pm. The set up is amazing with a visit to Santa’s Enchanted Forest on the way to see St. Nick.

Today’s a special day. It’s Q’s birthday! How is my baby already 9?!
One of Q’s favourite things to eat, besides sushi and peking duck, is crepes. Who could blame him? Those ruffly golden wrappers are the perfect vessel for Nutella and bananas. Naturally this my little foodie’s birthday breakfast request.

Pictures play an important role, capturing a moment in time that you can relive over and over. Kids seem to grow like weeds so we try and get pictures done every year.
With my sister and her husband in town with their new baby boy, we thought it would be the perfect time to get a family picture done. It was hard to figure out where we wanted to do it. An outside picture would be nice but would the weather hold up? What do we wear? Do we match or coordinate?

I can’t believe that next weekend is Thanksgiving. It’s always a great time to get together with family and friends and be thankful for our blessings. Sure turkey will be on the menu but sometimes, it’s the sides that put the meal over the top. These roasted brussel sprouts should definitely be added to your Thanksgiving menu.

The first time I smelled pumpkin baking was when I was walking the halls of my elementary school a million years ago (or so it seems). The kids in kindergarten had baked some muffins and the delicious smell filtered through the halls. Every time I smell baked pumpkin, it transports me back.
Not much for pumpkin in coffee but pumpkin in cake or muffins, yum! Add in some chocolate? Yes please. I wanted a bread that not only tasted delicious and warm and Fall-like, but one that was moist and this definitely delivers. The cinnamon and all spice delivers with the warmth and the addition of sour cream makes the bread super moist. No dry crumbs here!
